Cardenden Community Fridge
The Cardenden Community Fridge is a local food project supported by Ore Valley and Fife Council. Based in the Bowhill Centre in the heart of the town, the project aims to ensure that food waste is minimised by recycling products before they reach their use-by date. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic and the current cost of living crisis supplies can vary week to week however, the team of volunteers that staff the project ensure that no one goes away empty-handed.
The fridge is open every Friday 2-4pm and the centre is accessible for wheelchair users. Anyone can attend within the stated timescales even if they are not already a member. Becoming a member is straightforward - all you need to do is visit during the stated times and one of the team will assist in registering you for the scheme .
